I paid the wrong person! What do I do?


The moment you send a payment in banq, the funds are immediately available to the recipient. If you sent money to someone accidentally, first, request the amount you sent from them so they can hopefully pay you back. Be sure to include in the notes that you paid them accidentally. Once they accept your payment request, the money will be deposited back into your banq account.

If you don’t hear back from them or need help sending a charge request, contact our support team and we’ll do our best to help. We can't guarantee that we'll be able to retrieve the funds, but we'll do our best to assist you.

If you are unsure of the account name you are trying to send a payment to, we recommend creating a payment link, and sending that link through other means of communication (whether that be text, email, etc.).

When you contact us, please be sure to include the following details to expedite the process:

  • Account name to which you sent the payment
  • Amount of the payment
  • Date of the payment
  • Account name you meant to pay
